2006 breeding results for L. t. hondurensis:

Well as many have seen, prices in the Honduran morph market have dropped big time. Thats natural for a species that is easy to breed and lays big clutches. The supply just over-met demand and very fast. It is a good thing in a lot of ways. Now a lot of people who wanted to work with genetics but did not wanna spend hundreds of dollars to do so now can. Also, with so many being around now, there is the chance for people to start working towards the nicest looking animals instead of trying to pop out as many as they can. We've seen some of the neatest looking hypos and albinos already. The triple morph will be on the way very soon, as people have animals that "could possibly" produce them. Next year in '07 I will be breeding two albino het-hypos (produce by myself from a hypo het-albino male bred x albino and het-albino females) to a ghost male. This will produce hypo double het for anery. and albino babies. When those babies breed x each other any snow produced will be a 100% triple morph, showing albino, hypo and anery. at the same time. I should note too, that my albino het-hypo females have different mothers but the same father, and not related to my ghost, so those 2 clutches will be able to make pairs of half related babies. This year in '06, I had a clutch of 8 eggs of which 6 hatched from a pair of hypo het-albino babies. So any albinos from that pair will be 100% hybinos, a snake showing hypo and albino at the same time. My clutch resulted in 1.1 hybinos, and 1.2 hypos poss. het-albino, that was a nice clutch of hondos. I also hatched hypos, hypo het-anerys., double het ghost and double het snows. As of 10-30-06, I have one clutch from a ghost x tri-color hypo het-anery. left to hatch. I'll be hoping to end the year with some ghost hondos. For '06 (like with other snakes for this year) was not a great year for my hondos. I had a few females re-absorb their eggs and some lay bad eggs. For '07 almost all hondo morphs should be available. Check the available page for '06 hatchlings once they become available.

Don't forget to check out the Hondo Gallery for photographs of all my Hondurans...
